Jack's Story . . .

John Joseph 'Jackl' Tuite was born June 3, 1919, a lifelong resident of the SF Bay area. He graduated from St. Elizabeth High School in Oakland and continued his education at St. Mary's College in Moraga, California where he also excelled in Athletics. Soon after he enlisted and served in WWII as a fighter pilot. He earned the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, before returning home at the end of the war.

A New Flight

Jack returned to Oakland, where he purchased and operated a small corner market servicing the local community as a young entrepreneur. Understanding the operations of an Independent store owner, he soon focused on the service aspect of the wholesale distributors and sold the market, to take on a new opportunity with The Sunshine Biscuit Company (Photo) as a Sales & Marketing manager. He excelled in this field and developed a keen sense of effective sales strategies, eventually he was sought after to represent EMCO, a broad line distributor in the Bay Area.

The American Dream

Although in the family garage, Jacks true potential was achieved, when he founded & established Jack's Sales in 1973. A clear focus on planned retail sections, for Health & Beauty, General Merchandise & Seasonal goods, of each store he personally serviced. Through strategic product placements, loyal service & guaranteed sales, stores multiplied and referrals kept him busy enough to hire his son Stephen. Jack continued to build relationships and business partnerships, all around the Greater Bay area, until his retirement in 1984.

A Second Generation of Growth

In 1985, Jack's youngest son Stephen earned control of the company, and continues to operate and build the business using the same principles he learned from his father's leadership. Today, more than 40 years ago, Jack's Sales continues to be of service to independents, convenience, and corporate markets on a regional level. Business development has outgrown the garage with a 20,000 sq. foot warehouse distribution center, in the heart of the Greater Bay Area of Northern California.
